The objective of these classes is to introduce the wonderful game of soccer to the younger players in a fun enjoyable environment.

 

We will create a fun filled environment that is "pressure" free with the younger players and will introduce new soccer skills in a way that keep the children’s interest. The players will not only learn basic soccer skills but co-ordination and balance.  The young players will learn to interact with others and learn to share the soccer ball.

The major objective of ECC STREET SOCCER is to give players an innovative non-stop, fun filled opportunity to enjoy soccer in the winter months…This is soccer but not as we know it!!

 

The ECC has formulated a game that encourages fair play and promotes enjoyment of the game.

 

Quick Overview

There are 4-5 players on the field at a time. There are no off-sides. Goal kicks are passed into the field of play by the GK or another team member. The games are 2 x 10 minute halves with a running clock. There will be a 2 min half-time. A substitution can be made at any time. Penalties take place from the defending 6-yard line and are an open shot on goal.

Come down and kick it at the ECC this fall. This co-ed soccer program is designed to give the adults some play time with the kids and help you stay in shape. This fun program welcomes players of all levels. Bring a friend or spouse and we’ll divide teams up each Saturday morning.

Soccercise is a program that gives young athletes a chance to get in shape and keep your soccer skills sharp all year round. The sessions concentrate on not just fitness but on co-ordination and agility as well as speed. The sessions will be set out as a circuit with 6-8 stations. Each station represents a different skill. The classes begin with warm ups and end with a cool down period.

For the first time ever the fastest game on two feet is coming to the Easton Community Center. The clinics will be directed by Joel Barlow Varsity Lacrosse Coach Jason Saunders. Our program features a clinic style format and will be open to all boys ages 4-9. The program will focus on strong fundamentals while providing a positive environment that incorporates fun activities and games. Coach Saunders was a three year lettermen at Eastern Connecticut and brought Joel Barlow to the State Semi Finals in his first year at Barlow. Scholastic Folkstyle wrestling for boys and girls 1st through 8th grade. All skill levels will be taught. Tuesdays and Fridays, 5pm to 7pm, beginning Tuesday, December 1st, 2009through Friday March 12th, 2010. 

Using a wrestling games based approach you will learn the fundamental skills of wrestling in a 14 week program designed to prepare beginners for competition and to enhance the level of expertise for those who are competing already. You will become more athletic and fit during instruction.  Wrestling shoes are required for practice and competition. Head gear is required for competition and recommended for practice.

 

The cost of a USA wrestling competitor’s card is included in the fees.  For those who wish to compete there is a tournament registration fee for every tournament entered. This fee is approximately $16 for each tournament payable to coach LiCastri when you decide which tournament you would like to participate in. There is a tournament every Sunday from the last week in December through the second week of March.  Coach LiCastri will hand out a schedule for all matches the team will attend during the season.  Those who would like to compete can arrange for a parent or guardian to bring them and stay with them during the tournament and they will be coached by Coach LiCastri or one of the coach volunteers during competition. The last week of the season we will introduce Freestyle and Greco Roman wrestling.  These are the styles of wrestling used in the Olympic Games.

Charles Feldman, co-director of the Feldman Summer Tennis Camp, has been teaching tennis for five years. Presently Charles plays Division 1 college tennis for Quinnipiac University. Charles’ ability to create a nurturing environment for children, together with his advanced teaching and playing skills, contribute to his success with students of all ages and abilities. In this class you will learn how to improve your tennis game while having fun, whether you are a beginner or have taken lessons before.

 

ECC Dodgeball League

Welcome to the world of Dodgeball. This is a fast pace game and is played with soft foam balls and two opposing teams that are trying to eliminate the other players while avoiding being hit themselves. If a ball is caught than a team member is allowed back in the game and the person who threw it is out. Once a team has been totally eliminated the round has ended and best out of three rounds wins. Register early, limited spaces. Sign up individually or as a team.
